3 Questions to Lose Weight: How Can You Nourish Your Body in a Different Way?

Most of us have been raised by our parents and they taught us we need to eat food, we need to eat three square meals a day and this is the way! Well, has it worked? Has it created the body that you desire? Is it really working to have three healthy square meals per day, or is it just an interesting point of view that we should eat like this?

If you're like me and you would like to change some stuff with your body, its shape, its form, its weight or whatever it is you want to change, you might want to start asking questions. Here a 3 that I use everyday and that have created an amazing lightness in my body.

Question #1: "Body, Are You Actually Hungry?"

Whenever you feel the compulsion to eat, stop, ask a question. Body, are you actually hungry?

This simple question can transform your relationship with food and eating habits. Instead of eating out of routine or emotion, you're checking in with your body's actual requirements and what is true. If it's heavy, that means no, your body doesn't want to eat. This heaviness is your body's way of communicating with you. Learning to recognize this subtle communication is key to becoming aware of what your body truly requires. Most of the time, you will find out that your body is not hungry at all.

Question #2: "Body, who does this belong to?"

A second question you can ask when you're about to jump into the conclusion you should eat is: Body, who does this belong to?

If it lightens up at all, it means it belongs to someone else's. Your body is an aware organism, it is informing you that other bodies (even far from where you are!) are hungry. Information is just information, let it go, don't make it relevant and move on to something else, you can also go to our next question...

Question #3: "Body, What Do You Require Right Now?"

When your body says no to food, this is a great question to ask: Body, what do you require right now? 

Your body will communicate subtly what it desires and requires. It's a process, and I have to tell you, it's a muscle you have to build. You need to practice and practice and practise until you get to how your unique body communicates with you.

Building the Muscle of Body Awareness

Asking questions to your body doesn't come naturally at the beginning. We have NOT been educated at questionning from a very young age, and how easier would it have been if we had been educated to ask questions to our bodies?

What else is possible? What does your body know that you don't know?

How Can You Nourish Your Body in a Different Way Than Food?

This is my invitation to something different. Instead of following the traditional three-square-meals brainwashing that may not be working for your body, consider developing a dialogue with your body.

When you start asking these three questions consistently:

  1. Body, are you actually hungry?
  2. Body, who does this belong to?
  3. Body, what do you require right now?

You begin to develop a different relationship with your body, and you can begin to change its shape, its size, and its weight. This method will allow you to have more peace and ease and a different reality with your body.

What Are the Infinite Possibilities?

What are the infinite possibilities for you to change your body? When you start listening to what your body actually requires rather than following what everybody says you should eat, you open up new doors to create the body you desire.

This isn't about restricting yourself, punishing your body or following another diet plan. It's about developing body awareness and trusting the wisdom your body already has.

Remember, this is a process and a muscle you have to build. Be patient with yourself as you learn this new way of communicating with your body. The results may surprise you as you discover what your body truly knows about nourishing itself!
